Surfing is becoming more popular here, where the hurricane swells create great waves attracting surfing enthusiasts from around the world. Other watersports include paragliding, wake boarding, wind surfing and water skiing. Equipment hire is readily available along with lessons and advice on the best places for those with more experience.

As well as sailing off the coast you can also explore the many rivers winding through the tropical rain forest by renting a kayak, either on your own or with a guide. This is a great way to see the diverse wildlife and plants in the rain forest as well as exotic birds. As the rivers flow into the seas there are lagoons and bays to be explored at your leisure.
